Yakima Regional Medical Center has developed a reputation for bringing new, patient-focused health services to the community. To better serve the residents and surrounding communities, and at the request of area physicians, we added the hospitalist program in 2006.

Yakima Regional is proud to have full time hospitalists and nurse practitioners on staff. Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in caring for patients while they spend time in the hospital. They work closely with a patient’s primary care physicians and surgeons to make sure that each patient receives the best care possible. Each patient is able to receive more time and attention from a hospitalist, and primary care physicians can spend less time away from their practice while feeling confident and remaining up to date about the care of their patients. Physicians will receive an informational fax upon their patient's admission and discharge, which will include diagnosis and a list of discharge prescriptions.

Our program is staffed by experienced, dedicated physicians who all take strong leadership roles in patient safety, quality and satisfaction.
